Everyone in Sudbury and Great Cornard are being encouraged to go the extra mile by running, walking or cycling as much as possible as Beat the Street enters its final week.  Over the past five weeks, Sudbury and Great Cornard have been transformed into a giant game where residents collect points and prizes for being active. Since (…)launching on 21 September, more than 3,000 people have taken part and together have travelled 41,000 miles which is over 1,000 times the length of the River Stour! Schools, businesses and community groups in Sudbury and Great Cornard are competing to travel the furthest and win up to £500 worth of sports equipment supplied by Decathlon.

Cllr Tony Goldson, Cabinet Member for Health at Suffolk County Council said: “We’re delighted with the way people of all ages and abilities have got involved with Beat the Street. “There’s just one week to go, but we hope that the competition has really got people thinking about developing healthy habits for life.”
