‘Sudbury in Bloom is a voluntary organisation, managed by volunteers but working with Sudbury Town Council and Babergh District Council.

Sudbury in Bloom has been active for many years but a new management team took over in November 2017. Andy Howes, Vice Chairman, and key to the success of Sudbury in Bloom, raised sponsorship for the 2017 and 2018 “Pride of Sudbury” awards.  These awards encourage gardeners and volunteers as well as businesses and voluntary groups to participate in a competition to deliver a better environment for Sudbury through taking pride in our town.  Hence the participants and winners are the “Pride of Sudbury”.

Funding comes from sponsorship including roundabout signs.  New signs have been developed for the future incorporating the new Sudbury in Bloom logo.

The new logo represents the course of the River Stour in Blue with Sudbury as the colourful flower at the head of the river.  Something that our community can take pride in and which provides a platform for Sudbury in Bloom to develop links within the community to build cohesion and a sense of pride in our town.

Sudbury in Bloom have further key partners in Greener Sudbury https://greenersudbury.com/, Sudbury Joggers https://sudburyjoggers.club/ and Activ Lives https://activlives.org.uk/ as well as good links to other organisations within the town.  These links are being fostered and encouraged and it is our intention that we not duplicate the efforts of others but be mutually supportive as we progress.  Activ Lives as a local charity provides great support to volunteers and have worked to develop a new approach to management of the beds in Belle Vue Park.

Sudbury in Bloom was awarded a silver in the Anglia in Bloom Large Town Category https://www.angliainbloom.co.uk/2018-award-winners

Sudbury in Bloom are keen to encourage community volunteers to come forward to assist with work to keep Sudbury looking beautiful.  From a few minutes to as much time as you can spare your involvement will be appreciated.
