    Gainsborough Trail

    Gainsborough Trail is an ongoing project to link all wildlife sites around Sudbury to be a continuous circular walkable path. The Meadow Walk is the first section to be opened from the Kingfisher Leisure Centre follow the blue way markers along the old railway track and then onto the Water Meadows. This circular walk is approximately 3.5 miles.

    The Common Lands

    The Common Lands are where Sudbury’s Freeman graze their cattle in the summer for over 900 years.  There is an excellent network of paths across where visitors can appreciate the habitats managed for wild birds, animals and flowers and is designated as a local Nature Reserve and County Wildlife Site, all within a 10 minute walk of Sudbury Town Centre.
