Born in 1912 in Wyoming, Jackson Pollock was influenced by Picasso among others, and his style of painting developed gradually over time, leading in the early 1940s to a completely abstract ‘all-over’ style which was given the name Abstract Exhibitionism. His individual, and not to say controversial, style will be the subject of the lecture at the start of the afternoon.
